Privacy Policy.
This policy describes how LogosGuard handles data when you use the LogosGuard - AI Privacy Shield browser extension. Last updated: May 5, 2026.
LogosGuard ("LogosGuard," "we," "us," or "our") provides a browser extension that helps users detect and redact sensitive information before sharing it with supported AI tools.
If you are looking for the policy that covers the LogosGuard enterprise browser extension, see our Enterprise Privacy Policy.
What the extension accesses.
- Prompt text and related page content on supported sites, used locally to detect sensitive information.
- Files and documents you explicitly choose to upload, used locally to scan and suggest redactions.
- Local extension settings and local state stored in your browser.
How we use data.
- To scan prompt text and selected files locally in your browser.
- To generate suggested redactions and present them to you for review before submission.
- To maintain local settings, preferences, and feature state needed for the extension to function.
- To download and locally cache model assets so detection can run on your device.
How data is shared.
- The extension processes prompt text and selected files locally on your device.
- To initialize local scanning, the extension may download model assets from Hugging Face. These downloads do not include the contents of your prompts or your files.
- If you choose to send a prompt or upload a file after review, that content is submitted by you to the destination service (for example, ChatGPT and Claude). LogosGuard does not relay or proxy that content.
Retention and deletion.
- Local settings, state, and cached model files may remain on your device until you remove them.
- You may remove the extension, clear browser extension storage, or clear cached model files at any time to delete locally stored data.
- LogosGuard does not maintain extension-side prompt or file scan history on its own servers.
Security.
- The extension is intended to run on HTTPS-supported sites and to use HTTPS for any external connections it initiates (such as model downloads).
- No detection or redaction system is perfect. You remain responsible for what you ultimately choose to submit on supported sites.
Data sales and advertising.
- We do not sell user data.
- We do not use user data from this extension for advertising.
- We do not transfer user data to data brokers.
Your choices.
- You choose whether to use the extension.
- You control what prompts and files you submit on supported sites.
- You may remove the extension or clear its local storage at any time.
